After flying around the world with a major airline for thirty-five years, I was ready for a change. 
My daughter Cozette was working at the Blue Bottle and she said, "Mom, you don't retire because you don't know what you would do. Buy this place!" Doing that seemed like the logical transition from serving coffee in the air to sleeping in my own bed every night (in the same time zone), and not living
out of a suitcase.
Now that the Blue Bottle is in my care, there are many times when I still feel the beautiful part of traveling - because Blue Bottle guests are from all over the world. It's not unusual to hear people at our tables speaking Spanish, German, French . . . Japanese, Italian . . . Russian . . . you name it. They are here.
Cozette eventually moved on to do her fabulous bike shop just across the road. Since then my friend Michelle Frye has gone beyond human effort to help keep it all together. And this little place is growing. We have so many wonderful performers and events here. Our food and drinks are made and served with love, and for all who wish to be here - we welcome you!
